How this chat uses your messages
Each Agent belongs to a business on Anitilo. The business chooses its data sources and manages its conversations, and its team members with access can view chat history.
Anitilo guide
The Anitilo guide on the Anitilo website and dashboard is Anitilo's own Agent. It works like any business Agent on this page: Anitilo saves your questions, the guide's replies, and the website context below, and the Anitilo team can read those chats to improve the guide and follow up on requests. In the dashboard, the guide sees the dashboard page paths you visit, but not your account email or your business's content unless you type them into the chat.
Generating a reply
Anitilo stores visitor questions and agent replies for the business. To generate an answer, Anitilo sends the question, recent conversation history, and relevant excerpts from the business's data sources to OpenAI. The resulting reply is saved with the conversation.
Website context
When you send a message from a website widget, Anitilo can store the current page and other page paths seen during the chat session, the referrer host, allowlisted UTM campaign values, browser languages, and device type with the conversation. Page query strings and fragments are removed. If a local GeoLite2 country database is configured, Anitilo uses the request IP to look up an approximate country; the IP is not added to this visitor-context record or sent to the GeoIP provider. This product includes GeoLite Data created by MaxMind, available from MaxMind. GeoLite estimates must not be used to identify a specific person, household, or address. These details are visible to the business's team members who can read the conversation.
When you request a sign-in link on the Anitilo website, it records first and latest acquisition details, including UTM values and referrer host, along with page paths, browser language, and device class. If local GeoLite is configured, signup country is derived when you confirm the link. A new account keeps this signup snapshot in its metadata. Later sign-ins can refresh the current acquisition touch without replacing the signup details.
Question themes
When classification is enabled, Anitilo also sends visitor questions to OpenAI in the background to group topics and identify requests for sales contact or human help. These labels are stored with the message and follow its retention period. A label alone does not submit a lead or send a notification.
Email follow-up
After an unanswered reply, you can ask the business to follow up by email. Anitilo saves your email with the conversation and sends it, along with a conversation link, to the business owner.
Sales contact requests
A sales or combined Agent may show an optional contact form when the conversation indicates sales interest. Anitilo saves a lead only if you submit the form and agree to its consent. The lead includes your email, optional name, consent record, and a link to this chat in the business's dashboard. The business can review or remove it. Anitilo does not send lead details to OpenAI or email them to the business owner. If the business enables conversation cleanup, the lead is deleted when its linked chat reaches the selected retention period.
Abuse prevention
Anitilo stores a temporary hashed key and request count for each rate-limit window. For visitor requests, the key is derived from your IP address; the raw address is not stored in the record. MongoDB removes expired records asynchronously.
Conversation retention
The business can set automatic conversation cleanup to 30, 90, 180, or 365 days. If it leaves this setting off, Anitilo does not automatically delete conversations. Contact the business operating the website for its privacy policy or to ask about a conversation.
